Il étudia la Philosophie à l’Université de Zurich, ainsi qu’à la Sorbonne, et se passionna pour les livres manuscrits rares et incunables. En 1957, il découvre l’Art Précolombien lors d’une vente aux enchères de livres à Hambourg, et devient rapidement une des grandes figures de ce marché. La dispersion de sa collection en 2011 connut un vif succès. </span></span></span><br /><span style="font-size:11px;"><span inherit="" style="font-family:"><span style="color:#212121">Nous avons aujourd’hui l’honneur de mettre en lumière une facette peut-être moins connue mais tout aussi intéressante de sa collection : les arts d’Afrique Subsaharienne.
