He is sceptical about the staging for the complexity and heaviness of the text). And again, Zweig is the protagonist of a splendid letter addressed to Arturo Toscanini, at that time in London as a music conductor, in which Zweig undertakes to organise, at Toscanini’s request, an appointment with Sigmund Freud.

There follows a group of letters from essential painters such as Monet and Matisse, letters of Popes, European Royalties; important Napoleonic papers and English and French History and Literature letters.

The sale ends with a large selection of Anglo-American contemporary literary letters and documents.

We invite you to join us in this thrilling journey appreciating the brilliance of human expression and the enduring legacy left by these extraordinary individuals.

L’Autographe Auctions - Mayfair, London
