Gilt bronze Nepal/Tibet, 19th century An elaborately worked and interesting piece made of multiple parts. Flared foot; the body of the vessel is curved concave from the middle of the vessel upwards. The neck is tiered and has ridges, the lip is flared. The decoration is rich, the edges pearled and ribbed; strung together, flaming pearls, wave pattern etc. The vessel is divided into multiple sections by vertical, twisted “cords”. With its expressive head, the dragon handle is particularly impressive. On the opposite side is a separate, spoon-shaped spout dish with floral decoration, before which Ganesha is depicted with a burning halo.
