Gilded, chased and embossed copper relief. Gothic. 14th century. "Maiestas Domini. Christ in Majesty". The relief would have been affixed, possibly to a chest or a domestic altar. The haloed Christ sits on his throne of glory. Delicate chasework on the face, which is so sweet-looking it is almost feminine. There are flaws in the lower part. Provenance: Bought in Sotheby´s London on 6/7/1993. 11,5 x 4,3 cm.
