The jade figure is carved in the round as a smiling crouching boy, each of his hands grasping a lingzhi branch slung over his body. With an aperture for suspension by the side of his head. The stone is of a pale celadon tone with russet veins and inclusions.
Provenance: From the collection of Mr. J.E. Vaandrager
Condition: The carving is done following the shape of the pebble, with wear and irregularity particularly to the reverse, which has possibly been recarved.
