A Chinese blue and white moulded jug with European... Lot n° 41

The pear-shaped jug is modelled with an s-shaped handle, the lower body is moulded with petals enclosing alternating ladies and flowers, the neck is decorated with a large lotus spray below a squared scroll band. The slightly domed cover is decorated with a central peony spray surrounded by a further square scroll band. The silver mounts are decorated with floral designs. Condition: Unable to examine the areas below the silver mounts. There is a crack to the lower join of the handle. There are shallow chips to the foot. The tip of the spout has been ground down.
