The bowl is boldly decorated to the exterior with panels enclosing various flowers and plants, including lotus, peony, prunus, and bamboo, all separated by a beaded border. The interior is decorated with a central roundel enclosing two birds amongst flowers and rocks, surrounded by large shaped panels enclosing sunflowers separated by further beaded panels. Condition: A section of the bowl has been broken in two and re-stuck, with associated overpainting (approx. 26 cm. wide). There is a bruise to the foot (approx. 5 cm. long). There are expected frits to the rim and minor surface wear consistent with age. Origin: China Period: Wanli period (1573-1619) Sizes: 17.00 cm. H x 35.70 cm. diameter 6.69 in. H x 14.06 in. diameter
