Figurine chinoise en bronze patiné représentant Bouddha Amitayus, Bouddha symbole de la longévité. Assis les jambes croisées (padmasana) sur un trône rectangulaire, la figurine fait des mains le geste de la méditation (dhyanamudra). Le Bouddha, debout devant une mandorle flamboyante, porte un dhoti rattaché sur son épaule gauche et embelli de bijoux ornementaux. Cette figurine représentant Amitayus est le prédécesseur des célèbres figurines Amitayus qui furent confectionnée pour célébrer l'empereur Qianlong. Dynastie Ming. H.: 26 cm. Chinese dark bronze figure of Buddha Amitayus, Buddha of Long Life, sitting with crossed legs (padmasana) on a rectangular throne, the hands in the meditation (dhyanamudra), wearing a dhoti tied over the left shoulder and embellished with ornate beaded jewellery, in front of a flaming mandorla. This Amitayus figure is the predecessor of the well-known ‘birthday Amitayus figures' made for the Qianlong Emperor. Ming dynasty.
