Palais Royal. Rectangular sewing box in walnut burl decorated in the center of its lid by a mother-of-pearl plate. It rests on four ivory feet and contains the usual sewing tools (11) such as: steel scissors, 1 thimble, 2 clamps, 2 winders, 1 needle case, 1 stiletto, 1 ribbon threader, 1 toothpick and 1 embroidery hoop. Additionally, we find two steel clamps. The cushion and mirror are traditionally decorated (cushion is slightly timeworn). There is a music box mechanism under the removable sewing platter. L: 21.5 cm, W: 14 cm, H: 9 cm. France, 1810.
