A note about reserves: Most lots in our sale have a minimum reserve selling price, which is usually higher than the starting bid. Any item that has not been paid for is forfeited by the buyer and the item may be put back on the auction block for sale. THE WINNING BIDDER OF ANY LIVE AUCTION HAS HEREBY ENTERED INTO A BINDING AGREEMENT, AS THE BUYER, TO PURCHASE THE AUCTIONED ITEM. Major credit cards, wire transfers, ACH payments, and PayPal payments are accepted. A buyer's premium of 5% applies to wire transfers, 6% to ACH payments, and 8% to credit card or PayPal payments. Bank wires are accepted with prior authorization from the auction house. Merchandise will not be released until payment is cleared. Payment is expected within 48 hours after concluding auction. Any item that has not been paid for is forfeited by the buyer and the item may be put back on the auction block for sale. Any buyer that does not make payment will automatically be blocked from future auctions. The Ross Art Group, Inc. reserves the right to cancel a winning bid and refund or credit to buyer any payments received by auction house if merchandise is discovered to be damaged or sustains damage that was not disclosed or discovered before auction.
The Ross Art Group, Inc. is providing Internet pre-auction and live bidding as a service to Bidder. Bidder acknowledges and understands that this service may or may not function correctly the day of the auction. Under no circumstances shall Bidder have any kind of claim against The Ross Art Group, Inc. or anyone else if the Internet service fails to work correctly before or during the live auction, The Ross Art Group, Inc. will not be responsible for any missed bids from any source. Shipping Terms
The Ross Art Group offers complete In-House Shipping, which the buyer will be billed directly for. The Ross Art Group, Inc. must be given the correct shipping address to ensure your package is delivered to the right address. Please note that we are not able to ship to a PO Box. The Ross Art Group, Inc. will not be held responsible in the event that damage occurs to merchandise or for any lost deliveries. Shipment information such as a tracking number will be provided once the item is packed and ready to ship. It is up to The Ross Art Group to decide which method of shipment to use. Generally, we ship within the United States and Canada via UPS Ground with a signature required. We use UPS Express, DHL, or Federal Express Int'l Priority to ship to all other points around the globe. If you are unable to sign for the package after several attempts or do not respond to import offices, etc the package may be returned to us. Please note that should this occur, the recipient is responsible to pay the shipping fees to have the package sent out again.
TAXES
If located within the USA, sales tax will be applied to your order. Buyer is responsible for all VAT and import fees for international orders, as outlined in our shipping notes.

Affiche originale du train Golden Arrow par Pierre Fix Masseau Signée à la main 1989 Cette affiche illustrée de la Golden Arrow par Fix-Masseau est non seulement un excellent rappel du créneau Art déco pratiqué par l'artiste, mais aussi un rappel du luxe du train Golden Arrow. L'affiche présente des couleurs vives, des formes géométriques et l'élégance précise de la Flèche d'Or, autrefois très populaire. L'affiche montre le train de luxe noir et lisse arrivant sur un bord de quai stylisé de style Art déco.
La Flèche d'Or était un train-bateau de luxe de la Southern Railway, puis de la British Railways. Il reliait Londres à Douvres, où les passagers prenaient le ferry pour Calais afin de rejoindre la Flèche d'Or du Chemin de Fer du Nord, puis de la SNCF, qui les emmenait à Paris. La Flèche d'Or a été introduite en 1926 en tant que Pullman de première classe exclusivement, avec un service entre Paris et Calais. En raison de la baisse de la demande de transport ferroviaire entre Londres et Paris, la dernière Golden Arrow a circulé le 30 septembre 1972. Par la suite, seule la section de première classe a été annoncée comme un service Pullman (Wikipedia).
Pierre Fix-Masseau (1905-1995) est le fils du sculpteur français Pierre Félix-Masseau. Fix-Masseau a commencé sa carrière en tant qu'apprenti du maître designer Art déco A.M. Cassandre, pour lequel il a travaillé de 1926 à 1928. Cette expérience a grandement influencé Fix-Masseau, qui a continué à travailler dans le style Art déco jusqu'à la fin de sa longue carrière. L'intérêt de Cassandre pour le raccourcissement, l'accentuation des points focaux et l'aplatissement des plans se retrouve dans les œuvres de Fix-Masseau. Fix-Masseau a combiné l'influence de Cassandre avec sa propre maîtrise de la perspective et des détails complexes pour créer son propre style. Fix-Masseau est surtout connu pour ses affiches sur le thème des chemins de fer et de l'automobile.
Il s'agit d'une affiche originale d'époque et non d'une reproduction. Cette affiche a été signée au crayon par Pierre Fix Masseau. Elle a été imprimée par l'Atelier Mourlot sur du papier épais et est en excellent état.
