Statuette en porcelaine de Meissen représentant un persan, circa 1750 A Meissen figure of a Persian man, circa 1750 Probably modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, holding a walking-stick with his right hand, wearing a white turban with puce-edged headdress and red band, a yellow-lined long coat with purple frogging and a puce sash with a dagger and a sword to his left side, white stockings and yellow shoes, the base applied with leaves and flowers, 22.8cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear edge of base (minor chips) Footnotes: Based on pl. 90, Persan, in the Comte de Ferriol's 'Receuil de cent estampes représentant différentes nations du Levant. . . .
