Statuette en porcelaine de Meissen répresentant un musicien grec, circa 1750 A Meissen figure of a Greek musician, circa 1750 Modelled by J.J. Kaendler and P. Reinicke, playing the lute, wearing a soft hat edged in iron-red, yellow jacket, white tunic with gilt buttons, a puce sash and brown breeches, on a rectangular brickwork base, 20.3cm high, crossed swords mark in underglaze-blue to rear of base (instrument restored, some restoration to fingers on both hands and to tassel of hat) Footnotes: Based on pl. 70, Grec des Isles de l'Archipel, joüant du Taboura, in the Comte de Ferriol's 'Receuil de cent estampes représentant différentes nations du Levant. . . .
