Grand et rare vase en porcelaine de Meissen, circa 1730 A rare large Meissen vase, circa 1730 Painted in Kakiemon style, the central knopped section with a rooster and a hen below a butterfly and indianische Blumen on the reverse between gilt bands, the flared foot and neck each with an elaborate display of indianische Blumen and an insect, 47.5cm high Footnotes: Provenance: Heinrich Graf von Brühl (1700-1763), Prime Minister of Saxony and Director of the Meissen manufactory; Thence by descent until sold by Cassirer & Helbing, Berlin, 23-24 March 1926, lot 403; Anon. sale, Sotheby's London, 2 March 1994, lot 6 (one of two) The 1926 auction sale at Cassirer & Helbing included Meissen porcelain belonging to the Wettin family, the former kings of Saxony, as well as the heirs of Heinrich Graf von Brühl, who consigned two vases of this type (lots 403 and 404).
