Peinture "lavandière" 1977. Huile sur panneau. 64,5 x 53,5 cm. He went to Kinshasa to do his primary studies there. Very quickly he discovered a passion for art and joined the painting section of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kinshasa in 1960. There he obtained a diploma in artistic humanities after 7 years of training and a graduate option Ensemblier Decoration 3 years later. He will then go to Belgium to attend the Royal Academy of Brussels and E.S.A.P.V.E. in Mons. In his paintings, Mayemba makes extensive use of decorative elements.
