There are some abrasions and infillings along the edges where the frame has rubbed. There is a small line of losses, centre right edge. The varnish is dirty, uneven and has yellowed a little. There are several tiny, pinprick losses. Inspection under UV light is hindered by thick varnish, but it is still possible to see some retouching throughout the canvas, particularly to the sky and sails; and a small area of restoration to the ship, lower right. Further restoration cannot be excluded.
