AN ARCHAIC BRONZE 'TAPIR' FINIAL Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770-221 BC) The shaft finely cast in a twisted rope design, perforated with two circular sockets ending with the head of a tapir defined by a elongated snout and large ears, 10cm (4in) high, stand; together with a pair of bronze hoops, Zhou/Han dynasty (1050-221 BC/206 BC-220 AD), shaped as two conjoined ducks, 10.5cm (4 2/8in) wide.
