Buddha's locks undulate in symmetrical waves from the center point and flow over the dome of his ushnisha. Close examples are held in the British Museum (Zwalf, A Catalogue of the Gandhara Sculpture in the British Museum, Vol. II, 1996, pp. 9, 10, & 32, nos. 1, 3, & 39). Also compare with another renowned example sold at Christie's, New York, 19 March 2013, lot 201.

Good overall condition, with losses to the ears, as visible in images. Repaired nose, damage to the upper lip, and significant abrasions and calcified deposits to the whole.
