Leaf E1 dam. in lower outer corner (restored), with some loss of text; occas. sm. marg. defects and some staining; sl. browned. Boards and spine sl. dam. Acceptable copy from the library of P.H. Boeckler , with his heraldic engr. bookplate on upper pastedown; below the bookplate an old owner's entry in pen: "A.J.F. Vigueron, D. Medecin (...)." Poggendorf II, col. 221. Very rare second edition (first: 1610) of this intriguing small work by Philipp Müller (1585-1659), professor of mathematics in Leipzig, known for his publications on mathematics and astronomy, especially on comets. The work was very successful and went through at least 8 editions up until 1659.
