An Antique Blue & White Pearlware Soup Tureen & Cover, and a sauce/butter tureen (lacking lid). Both transfer printed with 'Buffalo' pattern depicting a chinoiserie scene with the Chinese philosopher Lao-Tzu riding on the back of a buffalo to 'the regions beyond', framed by trellis borders. The soup tureen with domed lid surmounted by a handle decorated with flowers, 8'' (20 cm) high, 14'' x 8¾'' 35.5 cm x 22 cm). The sauce tureen 3½'' (9 cm) high, 7½'' x 4½'' (19 cm x 11.5 cm)
