LAIRESSE, Gérard de (attributed to) Erato. 2nd half 17th c Drawing, red chalk, 13 x 10 cm, laid paper, signed at lower right with initials "GL" (trimmed to framing line, hinged by one corner to mount, grey stain at lower left). Allegorical figure resting her right foot on a sphere, and with a book in her left hand. Possibly the Muse of love poetry (Erato). The outlines of the drawings have been traced for transfer, which is also indicated by the red chalk on verso.
