Ornamental fountain, following models of the Company of the Indies. China, mid-20th century. Glazed porcelain. Measurements: 4 x 27 x 24 cm. Once trade was regularly organized, the Companies of the Indies, which were dedicated to managing trade between European countries and the colonies under their domination, supplied Chinese artists with European models, both for shapes and decoration. The fountain in question has a background decorated with a heraldic motif, surrounded by floral borders that are continued on the flange of the plate. The profile of the dish is decorated with a golden fillet.
