An early Emile Jumeau bisque head E.J Bebe doll, size 6, French circa 1880, with exceptionally good pale bisque head with fixed blue glass paper-weight eyes, finely painted lashes, feathered brows and shaded eyelids, closed mouth with delicately tinted lips, gently rouged cheeks and pierced ears with blue glass drop earrings, with her original cork and leather pate and long blonde wig, on a good eight-ball jointed wood and composition body with fixed wrists and blue ‘Jumeau Medaille, D’or, Paris’ stamp to rear, wearing white cotton and lace layered dress decorated with pale blue ribbon and gold Bebe badge, frilly bonnet with blue ribbons, layers of underclothes, blue socks and size 7 marked ‘E.J Depose’ brown leather shoes, (condition: head perfect, good original body), incised 6, E J, 18” (46cm) tall.
