A large and impressive Moritz Gottschalk blue roof dolls house model: 2556/2 in original condition, German 1890s, the wooden house with paper lithographed brick exterior, painted blue roof with attic windows and two chimney stacks, decorative fret work to front and side eaves, bay window to ground floor with balcony above, pillars and balustrade, steps leading to veranda with pitched blue roof, decorative pediment and fretwork decoration, two protruding alcoves to each side and painted ochre front door, fifteen windows flanked with carved wooden painted columns with sills and decorative mouldings above, front opens in one wing to two rooms on two levels, with original wall and floor papers and maroon silk drapes to ground floor, (condition: the house is original throughout and with no restoration, some staining to exterior papers, and interior floor papers, expected wear to paint work, some exterior mouldings mainly windows are detached but present, see photographs, the house lacks one window pillar, one window half circle pediment, one bay-roof strut and one roof finial, paint loss to base), together with an original fireplace, sofa, and other pieces needing attention, see page 38 in The Genius of Moritz Gottschalk, by Everlyn Ackerman and page 38 in Ciesliks Moritz Gottschalk 1892-1931, 31” (79cm) tall, 29” (73.5cm) wide, 21 ¼” (54cm) deep.
