A group of sixteen various brooches, comprising: a late 19th / early 20th century gold and turquoise two stone brooch by Murrle Bennett & Co of looped design, maker's mark MB&Co and stamped Patent and numbered indistinctly 70.4.91; twelve 19th century examples - a gold, foiled cushion shaped citrine and half-pearl cluster; a gold, heart shaped citrine single stone between twin wings with half-pearl set crown surmount; a gold heart shaped amethyst and half-pearl twin heart cluster with bow surmount; one gold with alternate half-pearl four stone clusters and turquoise single stones; a gold, amethyst and half-pearl openwork quatrefoil; two half-pearl of bird design; a gold boss and star example with bead and ropework detail, later brooch fitting; an oval chalcedony with applied turquoise flower; a cushion shaped garnet single stone; a carved coral, corallium rubrum, cluster; and a single cushion shaped orange paste; the latter four all in gilt mounts; a cushion shaped ruby and half-pearl cluster between old-cut diamond single stones, later mounted on a bar; a single half-pearl mounted on a 9ct gold bar, hallmarks indistinct; and a 19th century gold plated half-pearl cluster with later added central cushion shaped foiled amethyst (16) See lot 59 for an explanation of the winged citrine and crown brooch Please refer to department for condition report
