BENIN - TESTA IN BRONZO Nigeria Interessante modello caratterizzato dalla alta acconciatura dei capelli "a berretto frigio" e dal poderoso collare che, a guisa di muraglia, protegge la persona coprendo il volto fino all'altezza del labbro inferiore. Bella fusione prodotta forse intorno alla fine del XIX secolo in ottime condizioni di conservazione. Nota: un modello paragonabile a questo, fotografato da Herbert List, si trova pubblicato nel catalogo della mostra "Quando Dio abitava ad Ife" tenutasi a Firenze nel 2005 (ed. Artificio Skira). A BENIN BRONZE HEAD Nigeria An interesting model characterized by the "Phrygian cap", high coiffure, and by the heavy necklace, that seeming like a wall, protects the person covering the face to the height of the lower lip. A fine cast produced possibly around the end of the 19th century and in an excellent state of conservation.Note: a similar model, comparable to this example, was photograhed by Herbert List and can be seen in the exhibition catalogue "Quando Dio abitava ad Ife", Florence in 2005 (editor Artificio SKira).
