A FOUR PANEL LEATHER SCREEN, DATED 1346 AH /1927-28... Lot n° 109

Leather screen with four panels, dated 1346 AH/1927-28 AD Each panel is adorned with an oval medallion inlaid with copper or enamel nails with appendages and spandrels, bordered by cartouches inscribed with famous Persian poems on the quality of Imam Ali and Imam Reza. The lower cartridges of each panel give this sentence: “This souvenir is the reproduction of the portal of the Mausoleum of Imam Reza in Mashhad, made for Prince Momtaz al-Saltaneh, the ambassador, by H. Prichet Delahaye, 1346 AH/ 1927-28 AD. Each panel: 199.5 by 60 cm. Formerly in the dining room of the Prince's Parisian house, "Samaddieh".
