Gouache heightened with gold on paper, depicting Maharana Pratap Singh in armour out riding his favourite horse Chetak with attendants. 59 by 46 cm CATALOOGUE NOTE: Pratap Singh, riding Chetak, led his troops against the Mughal army, under the command of Man Singh of Amber, at the battle of Haldighati in 1576. The Mewar ruler credited the horse with saving his life and there is a monument built at Haldighati in memory of Chetak.
