Lumumba pour l’avenir du Congo, 1960, 2020, 91X85,5 cm Jean Claude Lofenia Mpoo was nourished by the quintessence of Congolese popular painting during his stay at Chéri Chérin’s school.  He depicts activities of everyday life with vivid colours and lets his spirit guide his work. His paint brush is an instrument of preaching the Gospel, allowing him to describe a lyrical parallel universe about the drift of human behavior. The artist also depicts fables in which man tirelessly despoils nature. Observer of the animal kingdom. Jean-Claude describes himself as the incarnation of the future and his works herald a new stage in Congolese art.
