Leuven: 3 plans. 3 engr., various sizes. Good copies. 1. "Lovanium, Brabanticarum urbium caput, unica Musarum ac praestantissimorum artium sedes, optatissimimque domicilium". Published in Braun & Hogenberg's "Civitates orbis terrarum" (1581). Old hand-coloured. Ref. van der Krogt 4 [2319, st. 1: Leuven: 41B.1]. - 2. "Lovanium vulgo Loven". Including a fine scene at the bottom with a man and a woman on horses, and a servant with falcons and hounds. Published in "Tooneel der vermaarste koop-steden" (Amsterdam: Heirs of Johannes Janssonius van Waesberge, 1682). Ref. van der Krogt 4 [2319, st. 3: Leuven: 41B.3]. - 3. "Plan de Louvain en Brabant enlevé par les Grassins en Fevrier 1746". (Paris, G. L. le Rouge, ca. 1750). Interesting plan. The so-called French "Grassins" or "arquebusiers de Grassin" was a French troop corp of musketeers founded by Simon Claude Grassin de Glatigny in 1744 to combat the light troops of Maria Theresia in the Netherlands. The "Nederlansch gedenkboek: of Europische mercurius" from 1746 mentions the musketeers fighting in the surroundings of Leuven.
