[STRATTON CHARLES S.]: (1838-1883) American Entertainer, known as General Tom Thumb, who achieved fame under the circus pioneer P. T. Barnum. An original unsigned printed oblong 12mo complimentary admittance ticket for one individual for General Tom Thumb's Entertainment, issued by the agent Alfred Gately. Together with an original vintage sepia carte-de-visite photograph, the albumen print published by E and H. T. Anthony & Co. of New York, c.1865, the image depicting 'General Tom Thumb and Wife, Commodore McNutt and Miss Minnie Warren in the identical costumes worn before Emperor Louis Napoleon and the Empress Eugenie at the Palace of the Tuilleres, Nov. 29, 1864'. With facsimile signatures of each of the subjects and the publisher's imprint to the verso. Some overall foxing and age wear to the carte-de-visite, G to VG, 2 £80-100
