TWO GREY POTTERY MODELS OF MILITARY HORSES AND THEIR RIDERS, NORTHERN QI DYNASTY Size: 35.2 cm (H), 34.5 cm (H) They are both depicted standing foursquare on rectangular plinths, each wearing full body covering and head armour with a crest. Both riders wear military clothing and helmets typical of the period. Each piece is decorated with mineral white, red and black pigments, much of which remain Northern Qi Dynasty (550-577). Oxford Authentications thermoluminescence test consistent with the period.
