dating: 1864 - 1865 provenance: USA, Rifled, round, 22', cal. 50 rimfire barrel. Fore-sight and foldaway rear sight. Frame marked 'MERIDEN MAN.FG CO. / MERIDEN CONN.' and 'KENTUCKY'. Triplett & Scott 1864 patent marking on the upper tang. Tubular magazine inside the butt. Smooth, wooden butt and fore-end (some veining). Particular loading mechanism, that activates by rotating the front section of the frame on a central pin; such movement allows to extract the empty case and automatically insert a new cartridge from the butt's magazine. Pitting. In working order. Serial number '35xx'. length 96,5 cm.
