Rare English stepped-drum Arithmometer for all four basic arithmetic operations, 8, 9 and 16 digits, hand-turned mechanism with both cranks and original lacquered-brass plates (some usual wear), in brass bound mahogany case. - Provenance: Former property of "The Refuge Assurance Co. Ltd." (1858-1996) of Manchester, Great Britain, thence by family descent from the vendor's father, a retired employee of the company. - Rare collector's item with interesting provenance.
