Alejo de Vahía workshop (? - c. 1515) "Christ" Carved and polychromed wooden sculpture. Height: 119 cm. The figure of the crucified Christ holds an important place among Alejo de Vahía´s work, in fact, it is the theme which is most repeated in his artistic production. Some of the features of the image we have here lead us to Alejo de Vahía´s circle, such as the head leaning towards the right side, with one lock of hair falling onto the right shoulder, the body is vertical and elongated, covered with a short loincloth. The lack of dramatism, and the way the feet are crossed with the right over the left, facing inwards are other typical features. Some examples by the master include, for example, the crucifix at the Church of Saint Mary de Aguilar de Campos (Valladolid) or that of the Church of Saint Mary, in Riberos de la Cueza (Palencia).
