Delacroix sketch of makes its entrance at the Eugène Delacroix National Museum
Acquired and restored by the Louvre Museum a sketch by Delacroix for the interior of the Salon de la Paix in Town Hall, Paris, will enter the Eugène Delacroix Museum. The sketch represents the 11th of the 12 Labors of Hercules, the painting was destroyed along with building during the Paris Commune of 1871.

The Eugène-Delacroix National Museum Invited to Courbet's House
Starting on October 23, 2023, a selection of work from the Parisian institution, which will be closed for renovations next fall, will go on display at the Gustave Courbet Museum in Ornans. The Musée Delacroix will reopen in March 2024, with a new exhibition layout.

Two Donations for the Eugène-Delacroix National Museum
An ink by Delacroix, Study of Two Peacocks, a Swan and a Horse, and a painting by Hyppolite Poterlet, The Dispute of Trissotin and Vadius, are joining the museum on the 90th anniversary of its opening to the public. The works were respectively offered by the Society of Friends and its new president Edwart Vignot.

The Louvre Has Acquired a Eugène Lami Watercolor for the Delacroix Museum
The painting depicts writer Alfred de Musset and artist Eugène Delacroix gathered together in a Parisian salon. The restored painting – acquired by the Louvre – is set to enrich the Delacroix Museum’s collection, representing its first work by Eugène Lami and one of the rare portraits of the Delacroix himself.

Delacroix masterpiece to return to Louvre following restoration
After three months of work, Eugène Delacroix’s Scenes from the massacres at Chios (1824) will return to the museum on February 19; the restoration, funded by a patronage from the Bank of America, involved stripping the large format oil painting of layers of varnish and grime that were giving it a yellowed appearance.
