The painting depicts writer Alfred de Musset and artist Eugène Delacroix gathered together in a Parisian salon. The restored painting – acquired by the Louvre – is set to enrich the Delacroix Museum’s collection, representing its first work by Eugène Lami and one of the rare portraits of the Delacroix himself.
