This pierre noire and chalk on paper work was executed during the master's youth. The Louvre has only two of his drawings. 

An important painting by Giovanni Francesco Guerrieri (1589-1655), Lot and His Daughters, sold for €475,064 at Dorotheum on June 8, setting a new world record for a work by the Italian painter. The previous record, set at €410,550 under the hammer of Porro & Cie, dates back to 15 November 2003 (Artnet).
