The museum has announced the acquisition of a Study of a Male Bust in Profile by Giovanni Battista Crespi, known as Il Cerano (1573-1632), one of the great Lombard painters of the 17th century. This pierre noire and chalk on paper work was executed during the master's youth. The Louvre has only two of his drawings.
