Pierre Hache (1703-1776)

Cherished by its aesthete owner, Pierre Guénant, the Château de Beaulieu plays on its Provençal charm while cultivating the air of a Venetian palace.

This Provençal two-part cabinet with a receding section was made by Thomas Hache in Chambéry in ca. 1685. A first in the famous cabinetmaker's output on several accounts.

Son of antique dealer Didier Aaron and brother of Hervé Aaron, who chaired the Syndicat national des antiquaires and the Salon du dessin, Olivier Aaron was a leading figure on the Paris market. He died on 25 November 2018.

The radical architect and designer of the 1930s created a set of eight pieces, whose simplicity contrasted with the design of Artisans de Marolles.

The wedding cabinet "aux mascarons" in marquetry signed Thomas Hache (1664-1747) soared to more than double its high estimate at the Prunier auction, Monday the 27th. Made in Chambéry, it is typical of the creations of the cabinetmaker during his stay in the Savoyard city, estimated between 1690 and 1695.
