Jules-Gabriel Hubert-Sauzeau (1856-1927)

The painting and drawing expert Hubert Duchemin likes to approach market ethics in the light of his own experience. We talk to a militant in terms of the eye.

Born in London, where he studied art history, the Italian curator runs one of Britain’s greatest museums and is planning its 2024 bicentennial celebrations, in the face of Brexit and the pandemic.

Unveiled at the end of 2019, the project to restore the "Cap 44" building, which will house an expanded version of the Jules Verne Museum within the Cité des imaginaires, is taking shape. Boisgirard-Antonini announced the second part of the sale of Pierre Jacob's Jules Verne collection, to be held in room 9, on October 26. Of note is a Tour du Monde en 80 Jours (Tour of the World in 80 Days), a volume in blue percaline known to be a single example (€18,000/25,000).

Until July 3, Eric Coatalem presents "Hubert Robert, from Rome to Paris," an exhibition of more than 50 works by the painter that is part of the new "Parcours de la Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré", initiated by the Coatalem, Perrin and Sarti galleries. It will also feature a set of drawings by Fragonard.

With all the lots sold for a total of €82M, this first day of the sale set Christie's 2nd record for a private collection. The stars of the evening: Woman Walking, a bronze by Alberto Giacometti, reached €27M while the Louis XIV period rolltop desk by David Roentgen and François Remond fetched €2M.
