This event for discerning book lovers honored the great specialists of the psychology of animals: Jean-Baptiste Oudry, Paul Jouve and the inevitable Foujita.

The institution has just acquired an oil on canvas by Oudry, entitled Cadet and Ermine, which was sold privately. It belongs to a series commissioned by Louis XV in 1725. Created for the Château of Compiègne, it was initially composed of 11 paintings. Today, 6 are in Fontainebleau and 1 in the Chateau of Compiègne.

A bergère was the star at this sale in Normandy, where the name of Jean-Baptiste Oudry (1686-1755) and some delicate Ottoman miniatures also had an impact.

Like master, like dog... unless it's the other way around. These sensitive paintings pay tribute to our faithful friend.

The star of a group of early paintings, Jean-Baptiste Greuze  delivers here a self-portrait free of complacency, but filled with humanity, which touched the art connoisseurs.

It is hard to tell the age of this young girl painted by Jean-Baptiste Greuze, whose face evokes both the child and the adolescent.

Appealing Old Masters were on the menu for this sale dedicated to the graphic arts, which also included minor masters of the 19th and 20th centuries.

This is the modello created by Jean-Baptiste de Champaigne (1631-1681) for the north coving of the Mercury Room ceiling in the Palace of Versailles.

Entitled "L'Esprit créateur", this auction based on "The Creative Spirit" was held in two parts because of the circumstances: one live, the other as a private sale. The sale was well named, offering works from the Dutch and French schools and the Italian Renaissance.
