Covered lidded sugar pot with polychrome decoration of lakeside landscapes on an architectural background, animated by fishermen represented in cartouches formed by interlaced plant-tipped gold fillets. The rims are adorned with gold fillets enriched with three painted ladybugs on the lid rim and on the upper body border. The grip of the lid is in the shape of an acorn with a base set on foliage in relief. The decorations are most probably borrowed from engravings by Sébastien LE CLERC. Interlaced LL mark. 18th century. Circa 1750. Height : 10 cm Provenance : LEFEBVRE et Fils, Paris. Related works: A gobelet lizonné with similar decoration is in the Musée National de Sèvres, reproduced in T. PRÉAUD, A. d'ALBIS, La porcelaine de Vincennes, 1991, p. 152, no. 119. Similar models are reproduced in Porcelaine de Porcelaine de Vincennes. Les origines des Sèvres, 1977-1978, p. 85. The term lizonné is used in inventories contemporary with the creation of objects of this shape, and is applied to various slightly ribbed pieces, whose surface thus appears undulated.
