Covered three-lobed spice box resting on three claw feet, decorated in blue monochrome on the lid with allegories of Spring, Summer and Autumn in the form of loves with garlands and flowering horns and loves harvesting wheat and vines, surrounded by garlands, lambrequins and foliage and flowers. The handle of the lid is in the form of a fleuron in relief resting on a gadroon motif. It is fitted with a metal mount holding the lid (hinged). Early 18th century. Circa 1720. Width : 14 cm Related work : B. RONDOT, Discovering the Secrets of Soft-Paste Porcelain at the Saint-Cloud Manufactory. Ca 1690-1766, 1999, similar models are reproduced on p. 160, nos. 68 and 69. With its decoration of allegories of the Seasons, this model is the only one known to date for a piece of this shape.
