First edition in-4 ("new edition" of Geneva) of the Encyclopedia of Diderot and d'Alembert.
As in the copy described by Adams, volume XXX belongs to the "third edition" (G7), with the address of Neufchâtel, at the Société typographique. "Pellet, who had launched his "new edition" in November 1777, started, as of January 1778, a "third edition" in collaboration with the Société typographique de Neufchâtel. The two editions, far from competing, seem to have made common cause..." (Adams)
