Provenance : Drouot sale of November 17, 1997, lot. 108 This composition appeared in Russia around the middle of the 16th century and illustrates the liturgical hymn "Only Son and Word of God", the words of which are attributed to Emperor Justinian the Great. The complexity of the composition expresses the theological richness of the text.
