Biography:
Known for his battle paintings, Adolphe Yvon married around 1835 in Rome Henriette Edmée Vernet (1812-1855), becoming the son-in-law of painter Horace Vernet. Widowed, it was from his second marriage to Eugénie Rambaud in July 1856 that his son, the architect Maurice Yvon (1857-1911), was born.
