REVOLUTIONARY OFFICER'S SABER SAID SMALL MONTMORENCY OF THE NATIONAL GUARDS AND VOLUNTEERS. Handle entirely filigreed of copper. Gilded brass mounting. Cap in empanached helmet with long tail. Guard with multi branches and shell with trophy of flags, branches of laurel and branches of oak leaves on radiant background. Very beautiful curved blade with flat back, hollow sides, counter-edge and gutter, engraved, gilded and blued on the third side, decorated on the heel with friezes on a gold background and then with the royal arms (erased), radiating sun and foliage; on the other side, trophy of arms and starry scrolls under a crown. Leather scabbard with three decorated brass fittings, two suspension rings and a cap button. B.E. Louis XVI/Revolutionary period.
