Biography:
Painter of history, he was born in Lunéville (54) in 1773, he died in Paris in 1827. He was a student of M. Regnault and his father Charles Lemire, a sculptor. He exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1806 to 1814 and was awarded a First Class medal in 1806 and 1808. He made a full-length portrait of the Duke of Angouleme, for the council room of the École Polytechnique.
