flanked by two dolphins and surmounted by a gushing fountain,
the enamelled dial, the index with Roman and Arabic numerals,
signed Le MONTJOYE / A PARIS.

Catalog note
Our model is similar to other known examples in the Château de la Fasanerie, near the town of Fulda, Germany, and in the Château de Fontainebleau. A magnificent example in Sèvres blue porcelain and gilt bronze, delivered around 1775 for the Cabinet des Bains of Louis XVI at Versailles, sold at Christie's London, Exceptional Sale, on July 4, 2013, lot 22.
