The Martyrdom of the Ten Thousand Christians.
Circa 1496, woodcut, 38.5 x 28.4 cm, cut on the square line, this one partly nicked (Bartsch 117, Meder 218 d?/g, Strauss 35), a fine proof with the first breaks including the missing torso in the lower center, paper without watermark, probably from the second half of the 16th century, remains of hinges on the reverse, small fold of the print in the upper right. Without frame.
H. 38.5 cm, W. 28.4 cm.
Provenance: unidentified collector's mark D.U. (Lugt 796) and unidentified collector's mark K.K. (Lugt not cited).
